Belleville

Hey everyone. I'm doing a spur of the moment trip to Belleville to visit family & family friends. I'm so excited. Haven't seen these guys in what feels like ages. Aj & I are camping at Presqu'ile which should be fun, but he doesn't get the extra holiday day off, so we're home again by Sunday.

Also I've been painting. You probably saw it on Facebook- my gem painting. It's going alright- I should have made the lines a little crisper, but we'll see if I feel like touching up or not.

And I have two others on the go.

My new method is to make very small paintings so they're affordable, and I'm more likely to sell them, and less likely to get too attached to them. Plus- it's for my tuition (which went up $400... ), and living expenses. I'm a poor art student. I beg of you. Buy some art. I don't care what you do with it after. But it would be cool if like everyone in Alliston was able to afford my stuff, and bought something.

You can find this one (when/if I finish it), and some others at the Well next weekend (the weekend of the 8th). See you there!!!

Also- visit my website, or message me for commissions, or to buy something off the site.

peace out.

Exciting things brewing

Well. I have the week off at my day job- so that means I have a ton of time on my hands to paint like crazy because I will be showing some art at the Alliston Potato Festival (more commonly called Pot Fest). If you aren't from Alliston, you can laugh, but it really is pretty fun. It's a street fest, where they close down the mainstreet of my home town, and even have a little fair complete with creepy carnies, and bad pop music. Every where you go, there are hilarious little crafted potatoes, and everything you eat that weekend has something to do with potatoes.

If you've ever seen those Lays commercials with the farmers in it- a lot are from Alliston. A classmate of mine was in one of those. Yep. Alliston is the potato capital.

If you weren't planning on being there, cancel everything and go. And if you want to - buy some of my art.

Meal Plan for Jazz Fest Weekend

We ate crap all weekend. It was awesome.

On friday we ate Churros and Chinese food.

On Saturday we skipped breakfast, and snacked on chips, had ice cream, churros, corn on the cob (with a ridiculous amount of butter and salt), and two pizzas. Aj had a French Onion grilled cheese from the Gorilla Cheese food truck.

As far as drinks go: we had a lot of water, cider, beer, whiskey, scotch, and pop.

Gross.

Our bodies probably hate us, but it was worth it.

Here are the rest of the photos from the weekend.

And in the spirit of the festival, Aj gave us a little performance of Ba Ba Black Sheep:

Abandoned Cottage, Jazz Fest & Recent Instagram Activity

As usual, I've been away from bloggin for a while. I just have nothing to share- I've been working, and working, and that's about it during the week. But my weekends have been fab. We went to Jazz Fest last night, and probably will go again today.
Anywho:

RECENT INSTAGRAMS

I found my old charm bracelet. Nice!

I took this picture right after I finished reading the Shining. Which was a sweet book, but uber creepy.

ABANDONED COTTAGE

This shredded Union Jack was probably the most eerie thing I saw there.

It's weird when abandoned places still have stuff in them from when they were left there. Did people just say, "ok we'll start over completely. Leave everything there."? It's creepy.

JAZZ FEST

Last night we went for Chinese, in the middle of the Jazz Fest, and our server asked us if we just wanted drinks. WE DIDN'T GET CARDED. I had my first ever beer at a restaurant (heineken), and I've still got 31 days to go til I'm 19. Nice.

New Tattoo & Concert Photos

New tatt.

We found this super cute diner that's been around since 1958 in a town God knows where. We had a sweet brunch, and got milkshakes, and rice pudding, and butter tarts, and filled ourselves up like crazy. They also had a Salvation army where I found 4 pairs of high-waisted Levi's for the win.

This is Vinnie, accidentally standing in front of a headless mannequin.

We went to Buffalo to see Mac Demarco- but his band didn't show up so it was just him and his guitar. Very good. He was quite a charmer.

We camped at Rock Point on the way back. It was nice, but I wish we got to spend more time there. Lake Eerie was so warm, I wish we could have swam.

Today we went to a Jazz Fest flea market and ate street meat. I'm going to have a glass of wine and paint a picture now I think. So - here's to the coming week.

We went to see Mac Demarco last night, and Delicate Steve opened for them. I rather enjoyed it so have a listen.

I'll post more about the concert, and show photos of the new tattoo soon (once it looks less gruesome!).

xoxo - hope you have a fab weekend.

Cottage Fotos

Hey !

I'm going to a concert tonight, in Buffalo, with some friends. I'm so excited. I've only been to one other concert before, and I think it's going to be good.

I'm also going to get a tattoo this morning.

But anyways, I'll show pictures of this stuff later. For now I have some pictures from last weekend to post.

Yes. There was a game of beer pong with aunts, uncles, parents, cousins... even the grandparents came out to watch.

FRIDAY

Hey. I know it's not friday today, but I am going to share about last friday.

I finally got to see a friend! Weeeeeee! Simon & I met up downtown with the intention of 'gallery hopping' in hopes of finding somewhere to show some art. We ended up going to the MOCCA gallery and looking at some Andy Warhol & Keith Haring originals (yipes!) for a while and then gave up. From there we went for a coffee, a trip to Curries, and then a photoshoot. (and a little shopping at Black Market, where I spent way too much on a few records, and Simon bought this sweet visor.) Anywho, here are the pictures.

Record #1

Record #2

Record #3

It was a blast, and I'm getting so excited for school to start again so I can see my friendos more often. I've picked all my courses and submit my schedule on Wednesday. Weeee!

We also went up to Aj's family cottage this weekend, so I'll post more soon. And so will Aj.
