Lately

Hey everyone! We've been super super busy (as usual). Between a hundred million projects that are enormous and crazy experimental, and getting ready to cram ourselves into one bedroom in March.

I made my own oil paints today, and we made gesso last week. It's really fun, & I'm learning a lot. Which is what I'm here to do, so it feels good.

Also it's that booger's birthday next week, and we're having a nice quiet evening in with carrot cake on the day. So that should be nice.

What's really nice though, is that even though we've been extremely busy with school, we've managed to see our friends between 4 and 7 times a week for the past two weeks. So it feels extra packed, but extra like home and fun and games and silliness.

& I'm really trying not to think about Nicaragua, because I'm way too excited. (15 days!!!)

And that's it pretty much. Hopefully I can post some progress pics of a 4 by 4 foot canvas (that I made on my very own, with barely any help from Aj), that we're working on in our 6 hr studio soon. But right now it looks kind of boring.

I'll keep you posted. I'm sorry I'm not as on the ball as before Christmas, but it'll get back to that point again I hope. No promises.

Thanks for reading this all the way through if you did. Life's weird. Ain't nobody got the time. I'm bored of this now. Peace out.

Thermos Project

Heyo. Working on a little painting of my thermos!
It's 4 tiny canvases (2x3 inches approx- smaller than you're seeing them right now).
I have to hand em in on Monday, but after that they're $6 each. So if you want a little shiny painting, let me know. Or if you want the whole thermos! haha.

Moving (Again).

Hey! So you might have seen my facebook/insta post about us moving again. Yep! Third move since we came to Toronto 2 years ago.

We've been in the Beaches since April last year. It's been swell, I love the weather & small town feel here. I have two jobs within walking distance from home. We moved here at the end of the school year and the summer was awesome. Then we hit September & we spend 2 hours a day on the streetcar getting to & from school.

A bunch of our buddies also moved here last year which has been amazing, except that we live so far away. We're almost in Scarborough.... here's a map! (it has UofT on it, and that's pretty close to where we commute to)

We wanted to move closer but couldn't really afford it. Rent is really sucky everywhere in TO. So we're teaming up with Aj's sister Sally, and our bud Cody and we've found a three bedroom apartment in the Annex. It's cheaper, closer, and pretty much just better in every way. I'm kind of excited to live with other people too. Aj says we're a little too hermit-y, so it'll be good for us. Obviously I'm nervous too, but mostly super stoked.

We'll be a 40 min walk away, and a short bike ride. So we'll save a ton on TTC.

Also the house is huge, and comfy. I'll post pics when we go in to paint and clean in March.
Weeeeeeeeeeeeee!!

Also this is forcing us to downsize since we'll have to fit our studio and bedroom into one room (which is huge, but not whole apartment sized). I think it will be a refreshing, relaxing, minimal year. Hopefully. We always say that and it never happens. But honestly we've been going through all our stuff throwing things out, donating things, and putting things in boxes for storage at our parents (hey thanks parents).

Wish us luck! & Come for a visit

CANOE TRIP// READING WEEK// PHOTO DUMP

I went on a canoe trip (in October), with Aj's sister Sally, and his mum Sue. It was so cold, and damp, but a lot of fun. I never posted the pics cause I had to scan them, and getting around to stuff like that takes me a long time. But I finally did it so here they are!

You can click a photo to enlarge the photos & see it as a slideshow :)

There were little mice everywhere! ^^

Anywho. I'm counting down the days til it warms up enough to do this again. But also I'm really enjoying the winter. I'm over it. I'm really sick of all the complaining about the weather - "oh it's so cold, what will I do with myself!?" Leave Canada.

I've come to terms with it. And honestly so should everyone else that lives here. Sometimes it's not fun, but I'm not gonna write the whole thing off. That's half the year guys!

But yeah. The canoe trip was awesome.
And I'm really busy with schoolwork right now, but hopefully it will get a little less heavy, so I can hang out here a lil more. Not too much more, but a little.

Also Aj got an iPhone, and is now on Instagram. So you should check him out- Andrewjmedland
