Painting on a Hubcap

I'm working on a collaboration project for my Alternative Media course. I got paired with Leslie Hockley who happens to be from Collingwood/Wasaga and her dad also works at Honda (my dad finally quit this week!!).

So we bought two Civic hubcaps and made watercolour paintings on them. You can buy watercolour primer so we put that down first.

The one on the left is all farmland, with the Nottawasaga winding around the outer edge, and the Honda plant in the centre, with their train tracks. The one on the right is of where the 400 and the 401 intersect, and we made up the suburbs around it.

It's kind of a present to future thing, but also how the city is expanding pretty rapidly up towards Alliston and Alliston is "Rurban," and turning into suburbia.

So yeah! I'm hoping these will be at my show in September at the Well. You can click the image for a bigger picture.
