I'm selling my clothes and anything else I can think of.

Hi all
I am selling my clothes and anything else I can think of because I am $13 short of my tuition. And tuition doesn't include (unfortunately) my living expenses. I'm kind of embarrassed to do this, but it's also time to clear out my closet and I kind of want to make at least $13.

I'm going to keep adding to the album on facebook and you can message me or comment on the photo if you want it, or want to try something on or whatever. I'm not pricing anything, I'm simply going to say the brand/where I got it, how much I wore it, and if I bought it new- the original price. But it's BO from there- as in best offer, not the smell coming from your armpits.

I'm sorry if we're not the same size. But keep in mind I have lots of baggy clothes too! Aj has already nabbed a few tshirts, so if he can wear them, you probably can too. And some of my clothes, I am getting rid of because they're a little too small.

I hope this works guys, I have my fingers and toes crossed that I can make $13 at least!

I might add some bits and bobs, shoes, paintings, maybe some records or something (if I'm feeling really zen, and you're really lucky), or books or whatever I find that I can let go. Because I want to go to school.

Happy shopping!

tbh

So yesterday was my birthday, and I worked 10 hours. I was ok with it though. It's life.

The problem was that I was out of the ordinary sad. I couldn't figure it out for a long time. I was just really sad. And you know when you're a little sad and you start thinking of all the sad things in your life... well that's what was happening.

Grandpa came into my mind, and whenever I think about him I have a strange thought process that goes like this:

I miss grandpa, self...
Hey self- Don't think about it, you don't want to cry right now
...Guilt about trying not to think about him
...More sad

I don't know what the right answer is, because I don't want to burst into tears at work, but it always pops up on me when I'm in public. I want to remember him. But I want to be able to do it without crying- I guess there just hasn't been enough time.

Or maybe I'll always miss him this much.

Anywho, I cried and was sad on my 19th birthday, but then I had a spiked lemonade after work and went home and fell asleep right away and it's a new day and we've been eating healthier and Aj will be home early. So that's good.

ALGONQUIN yo

As you may have noticed, or maybe not since I disappear rather often of my online presence, that I've been away. And this time I was actually away away. On my first vacation. "First vacation?" you say, "how can it be possible?" and the truth is that it wasn't my first vacation. But it was kind of. Because it was the first vacation I planned myself (with Aj)- without my parents.

This was our first vacation together & it was pretty good.
Before you get any weird honey moon ideas (my mom likes to call my life a faux-honeymoon since we're not married), let me tell you about the trip and you will know that it was nothing of the sort.

We went on a canoe trip in Algonquin- my first, his billionth.
It was almost exactly as I imagined it would be, although I think Aj exaggerated when he told me how crappy it would be for me (good thing to tell me... am I right).

First: Our route

yellow = campsites we stayed at

Field Notes:
Day one- DAISY LAKE
A garder snake
snapping turtle
a swimming squirrel
Harris (the chippy) Bueller  (a chipmunk we named)
Jeremiah the frog
toads
moose poop
people poop (yup, on our campsite)
sawmill blade from days of old
For dinner- chicken kebabs and rice in a green pepper

Day two- MOCCASIN LAKE
swimming snake
turkey vultures
cougar (!!!)
nuthatch
mud up to our knees
beaver dam & lodge
possible beaver
For dinner- KD

Day three- SAWYER LAKE
MUD
Best fire ever
We found cans in the forest so had a feast: fruit cocktail, and maple beans
For dinner - jiffy pop & soup with weird dumplings made from pancake mix

Day four- CASEY LAKE
Otters
A yellow float plane that was flying really low (maybe looking for missing adventurers? Spooky)
For dinner- "hamburger mushy" aka powdered mashed potatoes, powdered gravy, and tvp. actually quite tasty and good, warm food after 18 hours of rain.

Day five we just booted it home cause we were stinky and wet and muddy and gross.

COUGAR. we saw one. We had just pulled up to a site and got out and were just securing the perimeter and sitting around when we saw a thing in the forest. Aj said, "hey look- a deer". then it turned and walked away and we saw that it was in fact a cougar because deer do not have long tails, and are not that short, and are not as cat-like as the critter we saw.

So we scrambled around and packed our stuff and canoed across the lake to a different site, and let other people sleep in the cougar zone. They had a dog though, so we didn't feel bad one bit.

I went knee-deep in mud, and couldn't get out. Aj rescued me and also went straight into the mud.

After the rain, all of the portages turned into creeks, or just mud. On one, a beaver dam had broken and there was a river going over the path that we had to cross. I was tempted to load up the canoe again, but it was only about as wide as the canoe was long, so we just walked through it. Aj's boots are probably still wet.

My Injuries:

1 scratch on right hip
19 bug bites as of the fourth night (many more to show up after)
8 scratches on right leg
1 scratch on left palm from trying to break too many sticks
quite a few extra zits from possible lack of hygiene
mild headache on third night & burning farts
1 dropped canoe
2 very sore hips (possibly from sleeping on the ground)
1 bruised calf
sore knees and everything else

Although- my shoulders didn't bug me at all, which is unusual because I always have pain if I carry anything. But the barrel I carried had chest and hip straps too, which I think helped.

We brought two disposable cameras and filled them, so when they are developed, I will post the photos.

Overall Aj gave me an A- on my first canoe trip. Which is a pretty good score for something he thought I might miserably fail at. Points of improvement: fear of slugs, fire building in the rain, toad hatred, and not peeing on my shoes.

Twas a great adventure, and I'll be doing it again. I also have some of our doodles to share with you at a later date because my phone is dead and I can't find my charger, so no pictures right now.

peace,
h

Tarantula hat

Josh and Devon showed up here yesterday, after a month long hitch-hiking trip that took them to BC, California, and back again.

I'm so excited they're home, and for all of their adventures. They're staying for a few days to hang out, catch up, and relax. Today we went on an excursion downtown.

We went to an army surplus store and I found RAF badges, and a hat. I put a badge on the hat for my grampa, even though I don't even know if he wore a uniform or anything. I just know he was associated and worked in the RAF fixin planes n stuff.

Devon got a new backpack for trekking.

We went to a shawarma place and there was a hookah just sitting there to try.

The overall consensus was that this hat looks like a tarantula

So this weekend was awesome.

I sold some art! We actually made some money and had a good time, we're planning on doing it again in November for Christmas. So if you have any suggestions or want to commission something let me know.

And also, me and some friends figured out how to do Stick and Poke tattoos on ourselves and we spent ages doodling little tats on ourselves. Here they are:

I miss Alliston, I"ll come back.

Just a ton of photos

So we did go to Belleville and had a nice time visiting everyone, and we both ended up with today off- so we're just hangin out, makin art, eating food, reading books, and relaxing.

Anyways. Here's a ton of photos for you. Also - we're listening to this album right now:

some sand.

We stopped at the Big Apple on the way to Belleville to pet some goats, and take pictures of the creepy apple.

Under a bridge

We camped at Presqu'ile, and it was beautiful. We didn't get rained on until we were packing up - but it was fine.

Summer wummer

We made our food over the fire- it was sweet.

Lighthouse

Horse tree

Hike in a marsh

I said to Aj, "what would you call that place we ate?"
"a gas station foodery"

When I was at my parents there was a bit of an incident. Shadow the cat, was in a tree. Balin saw him and bolted through the screen around the gazebo, leaving a Balin shaped hole. It was like a cartoon.
