I'm Having a Show & Also Some Pictures

Hey everyone. I've got news.
I'm having my very own show in The Well (cafe) in Alliston. It's gonna be in September, and the tentative gallery opening (party) is Thursday, September 3rd. I'm gonna be working my butt off this summer to have a bunch of cool stuff to show & hopefully sell right as school's starting up.

Yippeeee! So book that day off so you can make it ! All of you in Toronto have to try to make it to Alliston (hometown). It's not that far, and it's really cute.

I got a half sleeve on Saturday!! It's just the linework so far, but in two weeks I have a session to fill it in. There's a bunny in it! I didn't post it before cause it's the best part. Gotta save the best for last right.

Aj and I are working on a collaborative piece for our painting studio course, and this is where it's at right now. We've got an acrylic underpainting (mixed with a lot of iridescent medium NICE) down right now, and we'll be building on top of it in oil. So stay tuned!

This is before we painted on it. The measurement of the top of the cone is about 28", so they're pretty big, but small for two of us to be working on them. I think it's going to be fun. Also we stretched it with fabric instead of canvas and haven't decided if it was a good idea yet or not.

And here are our plans. They're super messy, but we know what it all means :)

Prelims

Here's an encaustic portrait I'm working on right now. This is just the wax sketch, and I'm filling in everything but the face/hand with colour. It's changed a lot since I took this photo. I'll keep you posted as it develops. I also handed in a my silverpoint & egg tempura projects today so I have plans on sharing that soon as well.

In other news. Aj & I might do a collaboration project so that should be super cool.

Nica Painting & Short Update

Hi!
It's been a while. Because we didn't have internet in our new place until yesterday. FINALLY.
& Also I've had a crap ton of homework to do. So there will be lots of paintings coming ! I've got one for you today.

This one's based off of our trip to Nicaragua. The plants are from a pier in Granada at Lake Nicaragua, and the background is from a wall in our hotel in Granada.

We really loved Granada. It was a collage project for my painting studio.

It's 36x12" and if you want it you can totally buy it from me. 

I have plans to do a post about our new place (we're still looking for a subletter for April, so let me know if you need a place), and also about my ongoing projects. 

Also- my visa was reimbursed from the stolen card thing from Nicaragua, and I'm just waiting to hear back about my debit card. So you can cross your fingers that that works out for us.
